The sinuses are present as blank space in the skull and they impart resonance to the voice. The sinus’ function is to regularise the production of mucus so as to help the nose from drying out. Besides, they also keep away unwanted and unfiltered materials from reaching the lungs.
Each sinus has an opening that allows the mucus to drain. This basically leads to mucus accumulation which may lead to a major sinus infection. Sinusitis may occur for enlarged nose or enlarged sinus or enlarged throat muscles. One of the most important reasons for Sinusitis is inflammation of inner linings of nose, sinus or throat. This can happen due to allergy due to dust or any other allergen. One is said to be suffering from Chronic Sinusitis when it lasts for more three months on a continuous basis.
